Day 3 of @justacard #indieweek is all about home & community. As I've mentioned before, I sell my handmade items at The Emporium, a whole shop of local makers and creaters. It's based in Nene Court, Wellingborough. Never heard of it? You should check it out! It's a fantastic little shopping village, a proper community of independent shops, cafés, a gym, yoga studio, dog groomers and more! So much has sprung up there, it's turned into a really lovely local hub.

Day 2 of @justacard #indieweek and today is all about the Just A Card message. What does it mean to me? Like thousands of creatives, being able to do what I love for a living is at the heart of everything. It's the dream. But it's also hard work and we can't do it for free! Next time you see a handmade item and think it's expensive, think about the effort that went in to get to that finished product; the research, the prep work, the tried and tested methods, the cost of materials, the amount of time it took to make. Believe me we are worth every penny! Supporting makers, even in the smallest way, means we can carry on with our big dreams. Finally getting round to testing out the new paper I plan to use for my leather journals- it's made from upcycled takeaway cups! It's a tad more expensive than the stuff I usually buy, but it's worth it. Not only is it reusing waste material that's difficult to recycle, it's truly lovely to use. *
